An AI short-drama demo inspired by Midnight, the classic Chinese novel by Mao Dun. Created while reading the novel, the project reimagines its atmosphere through contemporary AI filmmaking as a tribute to the original work.

AI drama demo
ChatGPT was used to develop the script. Jimeng AI was used to create character look-development templates and generate the video material, which was then assembled and refined in CapCut.
The concept was inspired by Mao Dun’s classic Chinese novel Midnight, which I have been reading recently. I created this AI short-drama demo under the same title to reinterpret its atmosphere through contemporary tools and pay tribute to a literary classic.
